The King was creating absurd laws without them being approved by parliament. He taxed their tea and other imported goods that had never had a tax before and he gave them no say in any of the prices. He basically wanted  to make money from them to pay off war debt from the French and Indian war. He forced them to house British soldiers and they forced them to do things they did not want to do.
